How to Launch Your First Penetration Test on Hacksessible
Launching your first pentest with Hacksessible is simple and only requires two main steps: defining your perimeter and choosing your targets. Follow this guide to get started.
1. Define Your Perimeterβ
The perimeter represents the scope of your test. It allows you to include or exclude specific domains, subdomains, or IP addresses.
- Navigate to Search Perimeters in the left-hand menu.
- Click Add new perimeter.

- Fill in the required fields:
- Name: Give your perimeter a meaningful name.
- Description: Optionally, describe the purpose of this perimeter.
- Perimeter Scope: Currently only external is supported.
- Under Rules, define what should be included:
- Domains: Add the main domains or subdomains you want to test.
- IP Addresses or Ranges: Add specific IPs or ranges if needed.
- (Optional) Use the Excluded section to remove domains or IPs you donβt want scanned.
- Click Submit to save your perimeter.
π Tip: Be precise in defining your perimeter to avoid scanning unintended systems.
2. Choose Your Targetsβ
Once your perimeter is defined, potential targets that hackers might aim at are automatically discovered on a continuous basis and are directly associated with the perimeters you provided.
No manual configuration is required.
- Go to Choose targets from the left-hand menu.
- Review the list of domains, subdomains, or hosts that were automatically found.
- (Optional) Add additional targets manually if needed.
Your targets will now appear in the Targets list, with details such as name, perimeter, type, and creation date.
3. Launch the Pentestβ
With perimeters and targets configured, you are ready to start your test.
- In the Targets list, locate the target you want to test.
- Click Launch pentest under the Actions column.

- The pentest will begin, and you can pause or monitor it from the same dashboard.
